Getting Over Getting Even

“How bout now? Cuz I’m up right now, and you suck right now.”

It’s very hard to resist getting revenge. From a child, you were taught that if someone hit you on the playground, to hit them back & harder. What did that prove? That you were just as bad as them, really.

The funny thing about life, is tables always turn. That person who told you your dream was silly, will be the same one asking you how you made it come true. The parent who didn’t seem supportive, will one day need you to support them in some way. You may find yourself on top of the World today, and beneath sea level tomorrow. Life has a way of making everything come full circle.

“When a bird is alive, it eats ants; when the bird is dead, the ants eats the bird.”

Sometimes people project their bullshit on you, and it’s not necessarily your fault. You can’t control them, all you can do is forgive them. Trut me, it’ll make you feel better. When people hurt you and you hurt them back, they win. They know that they’ve gotten to you and it will start a vicious cycle that won’t be easy to break. It took me years to realize I was stuck in one. Change your motive, change their mind. Start doing things for you, because they make you happy. Not because they make others sad. The problem with most revenge is that it’s about bringing harm, and not harmony, to the situation. If you’re going to seek vengeance, you need to believe you’re bringing about positive change.

The Best Revenge is Being a Good Person
